Racing at Temiskaming Nordic

Temiskaming Nordic includes a community of ski racers who compete at various levels.

The club’s racing team, known as Temiskaming Nordic Team (TNT) has had considerable success, with both able-bodied and para-nordic skiers winning medals and setting personal bests at Ontario Midget Championships, Ontario Cups, and Eastern Canadian Championships. Several TNT skiers have qualified to represent Ontario at Ski Nationals. Temiskaming Nordic’s masters racers have represented the club well at Ontario, Canadian and World masters championships.

The club is also used by local high school ski teams as a training site. In recent years, skiers have represented both of the local high schools (Temiskaming District Secondary School and Ecole secondaire catholique Sainte-Marie) at the OFSAA provincial championships. Local biathletes also conduct much of their ski training at Temiskaming Nordic.

Significant race events have been held at Temiskaming Nordic in past years, including the 1995 Ontario Championships and the 2000 Ontario Championships and Canadian Masters when over 320 skiers from across Canada took part. In 2014 and again in 2015, Temiskaming Nordic hosted the Ontario Midget Championships.
